About PortalFinances
Independent financial journalism built on transparency, expertise, and a commitment to making markets accessible to everyone.
Our Story
PortalFinances was founded in 2019 by Alexandra Reed, a veteran financial journalist with over 15 years of experience covering Wall Street. After spending more than a decade at major financial publications, she saw a gap in the market: quality financial analysis was either locked behind expensive terminals or buried in jargon that everyday investors couldn't parse. PortalFinances was built to bridge that gap.
What started as a small editorial operation in New York has grown into a trusted platform serving over half a million monthly readers across six financial verticals — from equities and fixed income to cryptocurrency, personal finance, macroeconomics, and real estate. Our team brings a combined 30+ years of experience in financial journalism, quantitative trading, and investment management.
Our Mission
We believe that access to quality financial information shouldn't be limited to institutional investors and Wall Street insiders. Our mission is to democratize financial intelligence by delivering clear, data-driven reporting that empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their money.
Every article we publish is written with one question in mind: "Will this help the reader make a better financial decision?" If the answer is no, it doesn't make it to publication. We cover the markets, economic policy, and emerging asset classes with the depth that professionals expect and the clarity that everyone deserves.

Accuracy is the foundation of everything we publish. Our editorial process is designed to ensure that every article meets the rigorous standards our readers expect from a trusted financial news source.
Fact-Checked & Verified
Every data point, statistic, and market figure is verified against primary sources — SEC filings, BLS data, Federal Reserve publications, and exchange feeds — before publication.
Dual-Review Process
All articles undergo a minimum two-person review — the author and a senior editor — to catch errors, ensure balanced perspective, and maintain consistent quality across the publication.
Source Attribution
We cite our sources. When we reference analyst opinions, market data, or economic reports, we attribute them to named individuals and specific publications so readers can verify independently.
Corrections Policy
When we make mistakes, we fix them promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the top of updated articles with a timestamp so readers always know what has changed.
Ethics & Transparency
Our editorial team operates independently of our business operations. Advertisers and sponsors have zero influence over what we publish, how we cover companies, or the opinions expressed in our analysis.
We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage. Sponsored content, when it appears, is always clearly labeled and kept separate from editorial content.
Team members who hold positions in securities they cover are required to disclose those holdings. We maintain a mandatory quiet period around companies we are actively reporting on.
Some of our product reviews and recommendations may contain affiliate links. We always disclose these relationships, and affiliate partnerships never influence our editorial ratings or recommendations.
